Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter mentions that Danes are going to be returning (optionally of course) to patronymic names. This goes back to the Viking tradition of naming a child after the father’s first name (mother’s now!) and adding “son” or “datter” (daughter) to it.

Response (re: Sad State of Mac Genealogy Software)
A response to the article Jamis Buck posted about the state of Mac genealogy software. Unfortunately their server appears to be down right now, but you can find it in Google’s cache. This isn’t a rebuttal or a counter-point so much as it’s a response (I both agree with and disagree with some of what they said).

Avery J. Parker has setup a new website dedicated to genealogy in South Carolina : SouthCarolinaGenealogy.org. In the past, they setup NorthCarolinaGenealogy.net, dedicated to, what else, genealogy in North Carolina.
