Discovering history through genealogy has been a passion for Grasselli since 1982. Now, she helps people discover their own family histories as a volunteer at the Historical Society of Washington County.
“It’s really very popular nowadays,” she said. “People just want to know.”
In 1999, the 75-year-old Damascus native finished a book nearly two decades in the making. It details her family tree on her mother’s side, stretching back to 1819. The book’s 116 pages include more than 1,000 relatives.
