Volga resident tends to cemetery

Jennifer Rezac-Leither has written an article for the Argus Leader (Sioux Falls, SD) concerning the work of some local residents in preserving cemeteries for future generations, namely one Jim Schade. Jim is not only cleaning the cemetery up, but working on making sure the information is preserved for genealogists:

The dusty, weedy cemetery where many of Volga’s pioneers are buried is starting to look less like an abandoned graveyard.

And it’s mainly because of one Volga man with a passion for cemeteries.

“It’s so peaceful and beautiful out in open land like that,” Jim Schade said. “And they’re filled with so much history.”
….
He records the histories of the people buried there. Once he locates all the graves, he hopes to put the information on the Internet in the interest of genealogy.
