“Mrs. Genealogy” honored for her work (Illinois)

Joy Swearingen writes about Ada Hubbard of LaHarpe, aka “Mrs. Genealogy”, in the Hancock County Journal-Pilot (Illinois). Ada was recently honored with the Illinois State Genealogical Society’s Community Service Award for the work that she’s done. According to the article: It took four pages to list her accomplishments for the Society and the LaHarpe Community in general.

Excerpt from the article:

“Ada truly deserves this award,” said Eckhardt. “She donates her free time to doing this work with the LaHarpe Historical and Genealogical Society.

“It is sometimes tedious tasks that probably wouldn’t get done without her. She makes our small town society run smoothly and for the size of our town, our society’s information and resources put many larger ones to shame. Any person that has done any genealogy in this town comments on the fantastic resources we have and how helpful the people are,” Eckhardt said.
