Arkansas Ties – Photography

If you are doing research about ancestors that lived in Arkansas, or have some kind of Arkansas connection, you may want to visit ArkansasTies.com.

From their website:

At Arkansas Ties, we are working to preserve memories of the past with the technology of today.

Project 1 – Photographing the cemeteries in Arkansas. Each cemetery is photographed, tombstone by tombstone. We have now photographed over 200,000 graves at 163 cemeteries in Arkansas. Photographs are available to purchase for $1.49 per name through email or as a set on CD Rom.

Project 2 – The other major project involves bringing the old Arkansas Gazette articles to you. Free Articles include tax lists, land sales, election notices, and articles that interest a lot of people. These are available from 1819 -1832. Paid Articles are also available for $1.49 and they cover birth, marriage, and death announcements, advertisements, and those that are of interest to Arkansas research.. These are available from 1819 – 1850.

I have not tried this service as of yet, but plan to in the near future.
