‘Tis the season to give archival goods

Sharon Burns has written a small gift guide for genealogists, ‘Tis the season to give archival goods, for NewsOK.com (The Oklahoman/News 9). The article may require registration.

Excerpt from the article:

The holiday season provides an opportunity for family and friends to give genealogists and historians a gift of preservation supplies or membership in a society.

Archival supplies are necessary materials for the preservation of photographs, postcards, letters, old books and Bibles, newspapers and memorabilia collected during the research process. Polypropylene sheet protectors, acid-free paper, archival mounting corners for photographs, archival marking pens and pencils and archival storage boxes also would be welcomed gifts.

If somebody asks you what you want, you might want to send them this article. Sharon also writes about something else those of you living in or researching people who lived in Oklahoma maybe interested in:

The annual Family Story Contest sponsored by the Oklahoma Genealogical Society encourages researchers to record and share their stories with fellow genealogists and family.
