Follow-Up on Hurricane Katrina and Genealogy Records (Biloxi)

Murella H. Powell wrote a quick article in The Sun Herald to let people know that the genealogy records at the main Biloxi Library (MS) were saved and preserved.

Excerpt from the article:

To those who watched the televised videos of Katrina’s storm surge rolling into the main Biloxi Library on Lameuse Street, it may seem that all of the special collections must surely have been lost. But take heart. Shortly after the storm, many of the archival materials were removed from the building and brought to safety.
