Tourism and Genealogy and Kentucky

The Central-Kentucky News Journal has an article by James Roberts, about Taylor County bringing in more tourism. Even while genealogy research on the internet may remove some incentives for traveling to various areas to do local genealogy research, interest in genealogy is rising, and towns and counties are starting to realize just how beneficial it can be to tourism.

Genealogy records also continue to attract visitors to Taylor County, Clark said.

“A lot of people moved away for work and now they are coming back to retrace their history,” Clarke said. “The local cemeteries are all charted at the Taylor County Public Library. A lot of people go there for those records.”
