Interesting article by MarÃa Cortés González in the El Paso Times, Preserving the Past, concerning the preservation of family heirlooms. Being genealogists, we probably are able to recognize things that need to be preserved much easier than people not into genealogy.
From the article:
When Westsider Diane Morgan helped her mother move, she came across some family heirlooms she wanted to preserve.
The treasures included a Victorian crazy quilt that had been hand-sewn by her maternal great, great grandmother, letters from the 1800s written by her great, great, great grandfather Robert Dinsmoor, and antique dresses, including a wedding gown worn by her mother’s mother.
